Check: Give an example of kind words.

Please, thank you, or 'Are you OK?'

    Everyone is welcome

Explain that families and people are different and all deserve respect.

Learn: People look different, speak different languages and have different kinds of families: a mum and a dad, two mums, two dads, one parent, grandparents or carers. Every family that loves and cares is a real family.

Try it: Draw your family or a made-up family and share what makes it special.

Check: Are all families the same?

No — families are different, and all caring families deserve respect

  3. Lesson 3 · KS2 · 20 min

    Standing up to unkindness

Know what to do if you see bullying.

Learn: If you see someone being unkind, you can be an upstander: stay safe, do not join in, kindly check on the person, and tell a trusted adult. Telling to keep someone safe is not 'telling tales'.

Try it: Write three things an upstander could say or do.

    Check: What is an upstander?

Someone who safely helps and tells a trusted adult instead of joining in
