  1. Today: Writing a dissertation or thesis. Our goal: Run a long research project.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Question first, method second, literature as scaffolding not decoration. Chapters: introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion. Write early and badly, then revise; keep an audit trail of data and decisions; ethics approval before any human contact.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Draft a one-page research proposal with question, method and ethics.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
