- Today: Professional legal practice. Our goal: Draft, advise and act ethically.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Advice states the law, applies it to the facts, and gives an outcome with risk quantified. Drafting favours defined terms, plain structure and explicit remedies. Duties run first to the court, then to the client; conflicts, confidentiality and client money rules are absolute.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Draft a short advice note applying one statute to a fact pattern.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
