Full teaching script
- Today: Critical theory in practice. Our goal: Read a text through more than one lens.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Feminist criticism asks who holds voice and agency. Marxist criticism reads class and material power. Postcolonial criticism reads centre and margin. Psychoanalytic reads desire and repression. No lens is the truth; each makes a different pattern visible.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Read one chapter twice through two different lenses and compare.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
