- Today: Quadratic equations. Our goal: Solve quadratics by factorising and by formula.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- For x² + bx + c, find two numbers multiplying to c and adding to b. x² + 7x + 12 → 3 and 4 → (x+3)(x+4) → x = −3 or −4. When it won't factorise, use x = (−b ± √(b² − 4ac)) / 2a.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Solve x² − 5x + 6 = 0 by factorising and 2x² + 3x − 4 = 0 by formula.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
