- Today: Pythagoras and trigonometry. Our goal: Find missing sides and angles in right-angled triangles.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- In a right-angled triangle a² + b² = c², where c is the hypotenuse. For angles use SOH-CAH-TOA: sin = opposite/hypotenuse, cos = adjacent/hypotenuse, tan = opposite/adjacent. Label the triangle before choosing the ratio and you will not go wrong.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: A ladder 5 m long rests 3 m from a wall. How high does it reach?
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
