Full teaching script
  1. Today: First aid essentials. Our goal: Act safely in an emergency.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing — DRAB. Not breathing: call 999, start CPR at 100–120 compressions a minute, 5–6 cm deep. Severe bleeding: call emergency services and apply firm direct pressure; do not delay pressure to elevate. Burns: cool running water for 20 minutes, never ice.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Practise the compression rhythm to a 110 bpm beat without pressing on a person; use a training manikin with a qualified instructor.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
