- Today: Validating a business idea. Our goal: Test demand before you build.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- A business is a solution someone will pay for, repeatedly, at a price above cost. Start with the problem, not the product. Talk to twenty potential customers and ask what they do today and what it costs them — never 'would you buy this'. Model unit economics: price minus variable cost is contribution; contribution must cover fixed costs before profit exists. Then run the smallest test that could prove demand: a pre-order page, a market stall, ten hand-delivered units.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Write your idea as a one-page canvas with unit economics and one cheap demand test.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
