- Today: Analysing writer's method. Our goal: Write a PEE/PETAL analytical paragraph.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Point: state the effect. Evidence: quote briefly. Explain: zoom in on one word and its connotations, then link to the writer's purpose and the reader's response. Short quotations, deep analysis — never the other way round.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Write one PETAL paragraph on an opening description of your choice.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
