- Today: Soil, rotation and growing. Our goal: Plan a productive rotation.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Soil is a living structure of mineral, air, water and organisms. Test pH first — most crops want 6.0–7.0 and nutrients lock up outside it. Rotation breaks pest cycles and balances feeding: legumes fix nitrogen, brassicas are hungry and follow them, roots break the soil and follow those, then rest with green manure. Compost feeds the biology rather than only the plant, and mulching cuts water loss and weeding in one move.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Draw a four-bed, four-year rotation plan for your climate.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
