- Today: Cells, tissues and organs. Our goal: Describe the hierarchy of organisation in living things.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Cells are the smallest living unit. Similar cells form tissues; tissues form organs like the heart; organs form systems such as the circulatory system; systems form the organism. Animal cells have a nucleus, cytoplasm and membrane; plant cells add a cell wall, chloroplasts and a vacuole.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Draw and label an animal cell and a plant cell side by side.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
