Full teaching script
  1. Today: Macronutrients and energy balance. Our goal: Build a balanced plate.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Carbohydrate is the quick fuel, and fibre-rich complex carbs release it slowly. Protein rebuilds tissue — around 0.8 g per kg of body weight for most adults, more for heavy training. Fat carries vitamins A, D, E and K and builds every cell membrane; unsaturated is the everyday choice. Energy balance is intake against expenditure, but composition changes hunger, blood sugar and mood. Hydration, salt and sleep move performance more than any supplement.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Log a day's food and rebalance it to the Eatwell proportions.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
