Full teaching script
  1. Today: Rhetoric and persuasion. Our goal: Identify and use rhetorical devices.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Ethos borrows authority, pathos moves feeling, logos argues with reason. Add the rule of three, direct address, rhetorical questions and contrast, and you have the toolkit of every great speech from Cicero to now.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Write a 90-second speech using ethos, pathos and logos.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
