Full teaching script
  1. Today: Stars and constellations. Our goal: Explain what a star is and find a constellation.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. A star is a giant ball of hot glowing gas. Our Sun is a star; the others look tiny because they are very far away. People join groups of stars into pictures called constellations, like the Plough, which is part of the Great Bear.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: On a clear night, with a grown-up, look north and try to find the Plough's saucepan shape.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
