- Today: Long multiplication. Our goal: Multiply a 3-digit by a 2-digit number.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Split the smaller number into tens and ones. 243 × 26 = (243 × 20) + (243 × 6) = 4,860 + 1,458 = 6,318. Line up your columns and keep a zero placeholder on the tens row so nothing slides.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Work out 347 × 24 and 512 × 36.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
