Full teaching script
  1. Today: The Roman invasion of Britain. Our goal: Explain why Rome invaded and what changed.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Rome invaded in AD 43 under Claudius, wanting tin, grain, slaves and prestige. They left roads, towns, baths, coins, writing and law — much of it still under our feet.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Map three Roman roads and compare their alignments with modern roads where evidence supports it.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
