- Today: Powerful description. Our goal: Use the five senses to describe a place.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Weak writing tells you a place was nice. Strong writing shows it: what you saw, heard, smelt, felt and tasted. Choose precise nouns and strong verbs before you reach for adjectives — 'the gulls screamed' beats 'the noisy birds'.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Describe your kitchen using all five senses in five sentences.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
