- Today: Fronted adverbials. Our goal: Open a sentence with an adverbial and a comma.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- A fronted adverbial sets the scene before the main action: 'Later that evening, the fox returned.' It tells when, where or how, and a comma often follows it, especially when it is long or helps clarity.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Rewrite five plain sentences with fronted adverbials.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
