- Today: Then and now. Our goal: Compare life today with life a hundred years ago.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- A hundred years ago most homes had no television, no computers and often no fridge. Clothes were washed by hand. Children still went to school, but classes were bigger and lessons were learnt by chanting. Looking at how life changes is what historians do.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Ask an older person what was different when they were small, and write three things down.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
