- Today: Question marks and exclamations. Our goal: Punctuate different sentence types.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- A statement ends with a full stop. A question — who, what, where, when, why, how — ends with a question mark. A sentence shouted or full of feeling ends with an exclamation mark. The mark tells the reader your voice.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Write one of each type about a rainy day.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
