  1. Today: Caring for a pet. Our goal: List what pets need to be healthy and happy.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Pets need food, fresh water, a safe home, exercise, gentle handling and visits to the vet. Looking after a pet is a big responsibility shared with grown-ups.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Make a care chart for a real or imaginary pet.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
