- Today: Probability and statistical inference. Our goal: Move from sample to population claim.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- A sampling distribution of the mean is normal for large n (Central Limit Theorem), with standard error σ/√n. Confidence intervals express uncertainty; p-values give the probability of data this extreme if the null were true — not the probability the hypothesis is false.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Compute a 95% CI for a sample you collect.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
