- Today: Economics: micro and macro. Our goal: Explain markets, failure and policy.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Micro: price emerges where marginal cost meets marginal benefit; externalities, public goods, information asymmetry and monopoly break that. Macro: GDP, inflation, unemployment and the balance of payments interact; fiscal and monetary policy trade off growth against price stability.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Explain one current policy through both lenses.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
