- Today: Shapes all around us. Our goal: Name circle, square, triangle and rectangle.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- A circle is perfectly round with no corners. A square has four straight sides all the same length and four corners. A triangle has three sides. A rectangle has four right angles and opposite sides of equal length; a square is a special rectangle. Shapes are everywhere: windows are rectangles, wheels are circles, roofs are often triangles.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Go on a shape hunt and find one of each shape in your home.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
