  1. Today: Telling a story. Our goal: Retell a story with a beginning, middle and end.
  2. Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
  3. Many stories can be described with a beginning, middle and end. The beginning may introduce characters or a setting; the middle develops events; the ending brings the story to a close. Not every story follows the same pattern.
  4. Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
  5. Your turn: Tell the story of your day as a beginning, a middle and an end.
  6. Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
