- Today: Money, tax and budgeting (UK). Our goal: Build a budget and read a payslip.
- Take one idea at a time. Pause after each sentence; ask for repetition whenever you need it.
- Gross pay minus Income Tax, National Insurance, pension and student loan gives net pay. The 50/30/20 split is one optional budgeting guide, not a requirement. Essential bills and priority debts come first; build an emergency buffer if your circumstances allow.
- Together: choose one example from the explanation and show how it works. What do you notice?
- Your turn: Write out a full monthly budget with real figures.
- Reflect: what made sense, and what would you like explained differently?
