Bluetooth codecs also low-pass around 16–20 kHz, so for true ultrasonic output use wired or USB and keep the heterodyne monitor on.
Above 20 kHz nothing is audible directly — the heterodyne monitor mixes the tone against a local oscillator so the difference lands in hearing range, the way a bat detector works. Keep the volume low; high tones are stressful for animals.

This mode needs earphones — on open speakers the beat collapses. Try monaural or isochronic instead.
Ghost-band entries sit in the infrasound and near-ultrasonic edges people associate with “presence” reports — Tandy's 19 Hz lab and the 18.98 Hz eye-resonance figure. They are interesting acoustics, not evidence of anything. Keep the level low; infrasound at volume can make you queasy, and 13D motion plus infrasound together will do it faster.
